New Year, New Training Calendar, New Opportunities — Register Early

When the year changes, so will PDRMA’s Training Calendar, offering you new opportunities. In addition to updated and new classes, you’ll find new online training programs and streaming videos to choose from in 2019.

Be sure to check PDRMA’s Training Calendar in January when nearly all classes will be available for registration. But check back regularly to learn about new offerings/sessions that may be added throughout the year. Visit the Online Learning Center in mid-January as well to discover new additions and use the Training Catalog to download videos and other training resources.

Here are a few highlights of what will be available in 2019:

  • Jan. 16 and Feb. 25 — Loss Control Review Evaluation Status Webinars — Stay up to date with the Pilot Program during this two-year extended evaluation by registering for either or both sessions. If you can’t attend them, visit the Loss Control Review Resources page to listen to the recorded webinars.
  • Jan. 24 – 25 — Join PDRMA’s Deputy General Counsel Sara Yager at the IPRA Conference for her session about Participant Care Requests for Personal Services, Medications and Related Requests. She’ll talk about the liability issues raised when parents and caretakers of patrons ask staff to administer medication or other accommodations. And be sure to visit PDRMA at booth 605!
  • Feb. 13 – 14 (Naperville Park District), Nov. 20 – 21 (Northbrook Park District) — The OSHA 10-hour Training Program is a great way for parks/golf foremen and superintendents, trades/operations foremen, and Safety Coordinators to learn more about a wide range of OSHA topics.
  • Feb. 22 — 2019 Aquatic Risk Management Day — Join us at NIU in Naperville for a review of best practices for managing staff as well as updates to PDRMA’s aquatic risk management programming and a Q&A session with your lifeguard certifying agency.
  • March 7 Security and Emergency Planning for the Modern-day Recreation Facility. This is an essential course for PDRMA members, exploring the increased risk of violence against employees and the public, especially for agencies that host large events, have open spaces with public access and serve vulnerable populations.

Remember to check the training calendar periodically for new additions or changes, so you and your staff can register for the training you need.
