Get in gear, live and in person!
This year, we’re back to offering in-person training classes to supplement our slate of webinars. Even though webinars are convenient, some material is just better seen in a live environment.
Be sure to check our Training Calendar regularly as we continue to add courses throughout the year. But we recommend noting these training opportunities and registering for them as soon as possible:
March 10 — Implementation of a Child and Vulnerable Adult Population Sexual Abuse/Molestation Prevention Policy (Webinar) — In this two-hour session, we provide an overview of our new PDRMA Sexual Abuse Prevention policy and discuss practical steps to implement a sexual-abuse-prevention, risk management program at your agency. This webinar is for senior staff responsible for implementing agency policy.
April 4 — Preventing Child Sexual Abuse in Parks and Recreation — Train-the-Trainer (Webinar) — This two-hour session outlines sexual abuse training — best practices for prevention, identifying red flags, reporting and other topics — for supervisors, front-line staff and volunteers who interact directly with children and vulnerable populations. All participants receive the necessary materials to present this topic in group settings as part of agency orientations and/or in-service trainings. This webinar is for those conducting in-service/ orientation training.
April 5 — Aquatic Risk Management Day — Fox Valley Park District, Prisco Center — We’ll introduce and explain our updated Aquatic Risk Management and Beach Risk Management forms that are part of our Risk Management Review. The session runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and also covers best practices in aquatics safety, risk management, training and certifications. Registration is limited, so register soon.
