You May Already Be a Winner
“Each year we're impressed by our members' ingenuity and safety awareness,” says Tim Lenac, PDRMA Risk Management Consultant. “Every risk management grant winner demonstrates a new way to analyze a problem and develop a creative solution.”
Your Risk Management Grant and Recognition idea doesn’t have to be costly or dramatic. “It can be as simple as a new procedural manual, a program to increase awareness, or even labelling equipment to remind staff of Core 6 principles,” explains Lenac. “And anyone can suggest an idea — if it solves an issue and creates a safer workplace, it’s worth submitting.” One might be sitting in a suggestion box right now!
Each agency that submits its ingenious solution or idea to improve safety by Sept. 8 has a chance to win. Grants range from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $2,500, and the Risk Management Committee has up to $15,000 to award each year.
Take some time to review current and past grant winning ideas and then download and submit your agency’s application — up to a maximum of two entries. “The odds of winning are better than for a lottery ticket,” he adds, “and since each grant makes member agencies safer, everyone really wins.”
Use LRN #1610 to submit your 2017 grant application, and email it to Tim Lenac by Sept. 8.
