Event Helper Continues to Provide Coverage and Confirmation
Over the past year, Event Helper (EH) has been making it easier for PDRMA members to offer — and manage — special event coverage for outside-group facility rentals.
According to Angie Clayton, Customer Service Specialist, Champaign County Forest Preserve District, Event Helper streamlines her agency’s building rentals. “We offer it as an option to patrons who rent our facilities and who must purchase liquor liability insurance to have alcohol at their event,” she explains. “There’s a link in our rental paperwork that takes them directly to the Event Helper website designed for PDRMA members.”
The program saves time, paperwork and hassle, and PDRMA offers a downloadable, step-by-step instruction guide for patrons — Event Helper Special Coverage. PDRMA also provides Event Helper Reminder Slips with the proper URL for purchasing coverage. Your agency can also include an Event Helper Button on the facility-rental website page that links directly to the EH site.
“I browsed through Event Helper prior to promoting its use, and it seemed very straightforward,” Clayton adds. “Most of our renters comment that the process is easy.”
The secure, web-based program is available 24/7, and by using the specific PDRMA link, patrons can choose the appropriate park district from a drop-down menu and then purchase coverage. Once the patron purchases it, the Safety Coordinator at the member agency automatically receives a certificate of coverage for that event.
“That’s the feature I like most,” Clayton says. “Automatically receiving the certificate of insurance means no forms for our renters to print and return. Plus it saves me time, because there’s no paperwork for me to process. It’s definitely worth giving Event Helper a try.”
