Shoutout Spotlight

PATH Shoutouts are a great way to recognize others’ efforts and receive recognition and support of your own. You can earn 100 points per month, or up to 300 points each quarter, for giving Shoutouts — or receiving them. Use them to say “Thanks!” or “Good job!” to a coworker or teammate. Then be sure to check our Shoutout Spotlight article in each issue of Health in Action to see if we tell your Shoutout story!

Deborah Gayon, Environmental Education Manager for the Bartlett Nature Center at Bartlett Park District gave Kim Dasbach, Bartlett’s Superintendent of Recreation a Shoutout for Teamwork.

“Kim evokes unwavering positivity and dedication to fostering teamwork,” explains Deborah. “Her commitment to maintaining a super positive mindset and guiding others before passing judgment on progress truly sets a remarkable example for us all.

“In a world where patience and understanding can sometimes feel scarce,” Deborah continues, “Kim shines brightly as a beacon of support and encouragement. Her leadership style is not just about getting the job done; it's about nurturing growth and development in those around her.

“As a newer member of this incredible organization, I've been continually inspired by the helpfulness and encouragement displayed by Kim and the entire team,” Deborah adds. “Their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels valued, included and supported makes such a difference.

“Life is indeed too short to withhold gratitude and appreciation, and celebrating Kim for embodying the spirit of teamwork and positivity is an easy act of kindness. Here's to many more days of growth, collaboration, and success together!”

“Expressing gratitude, recognizing efforts, and acknowledging people's significance can truly uplift spirits and create a ripple effect of positivity. It ignites a collective spirit of unity and empowerment and has the potential to transform someone’s journey and spark a wave of inspiration that resonates throughout the team. A simple gesture has the potential to revolutionize someone's day.”

Amber Eash, Human Resources Coordinator for Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria, received a Shoutout from Brianna Cobb, the agency’s Director of Equity and Inclusion.

Brianna told Amber she gave her the Shoutout for “all her help with so many different things since January.”

“Brianna started with us in January, and as part of my job duties, I am responsible for conducting new hire orientation and onboardings for our full-time employees,” explains Amber. “Since then, I have just been there whenever Brianna has needed help with anything I could assist with, and we have collaborated on a few projects for a work group we are in.”

Amber is no stranger to the Shoutout program, having given Shoutouts herself. “Whenever someone does something out of the norm or whenever someone could use a pick me up, I feel they should get a Shoutout.”

Lisa Dian, Human Resources Manager at Lemont Park District, received a Shoutout from Colleen Ganzer, Finance Coordinator for, in Colleen’s words, doing a “Great job getting all the summer help on board!”

Lisa was happy to have contributed to the park district’s success. “The agency as a whole met our hire/rehire objectives and had all staff onboarded and ready for our all-staff meeting May 20, 2024.”

Lisa also likes to give Shoutouts to others. She says Shoutouts are a nice motivator and acknowledgment. “I’ve given a couple Shoutouts to staff members as encouragement to meet our goals in a competition. I like to see they are using the PATH app and getting their steps in.”
