Risk Management Review Pilot Moves Forward

The pilot program for the new Risk Management Review is moving along on schedule for its debut in 2021. Right now, members in Group A, who were scheduled for a Loss Control Review (LCR) this year, are becoming familiar with the new process. 

Anita Healy, Risk Manager and Safety Coordinator at Elk Grove Park District, is among the first to go through the Group A process. “We started in June,” she recalls, “which is later than ideal but only because this is the inaugural year. You’ve Been “Granted” up to $2,500!

"It’s great to see how previous winners become some of the biggest supporters of this program year after year,” says Jenny Porrevecchio, PDRMA Risk Management Consultant. “They reinforce that with a bit of observation, analysis and creativity, your agency can be rewarded not only with cash but also improved safety.”

Porrevecchio points out that even a simple solution like new signage merits submitting. Each agency that enters its ingenious solutions or ideas has a chance to earn a 2019 grant. Grants — awarded by the Risk Management Committee — start at $500 and increase in $250 increments up to $2,500. The annual maximum amount available for grants is $15,000...Full Article
