Risk Management Institute Focuses on the Next Steps

Attendees at our 2015 Risk Management Institute on Nov. 20 at the Tinley Park Convention Center will learn how to have a strong safety culture at work and at home. This year’s theme, Risk Management and Wellness: The Next Steps, looks at how safety and wellness improves quality of life on and off the job.

You can start your day bright and early with either a Sunrise Yoga session from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. or our Supermarket Smarts program from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. where you can learn how to make tasty and healthy food choices when grocery shopping.

We’ll take a look at how to build — and maintain — a strong safety culture with The Hidden Forces that Keep Us Silent in the Face of Danger. Part one of this topic is a morning breakout session, and part two is in the afternoon. You'll learn what keeps employees from speaking out when they see unsafe practices and how we can encourage them to be our front line of safety.

In addition, we’ll explore Why Great Places to Work Have Wellness Programs and delve into Your Liability Prevention and Control Toolkit. You can also learn more about the role members play in governing PDRMA in our afternoon session: Reviewing the PDRMA Owner’s Manual. Additional sessions include The Buried Truth Uncovered, Pre-planning for Property Disaster and our keynote address — 10–20 Years of Extra Life — The Choice is Yours!

To register, log in to the PDRMA website, click Training Calendar and go to November. Click More Info under the RMI listing and the green Register button. You can register yourself or your Safety Coordinator can register multiple attendees. For more information about this event, download our 2015 RMI brochure. Registration ends Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. The cost is $60/person and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
