Online Learning with a Single Click
Now it’s easier than ever for members to register for the newest online courses. "With the Online Learning Center (OLC), members only need to log in to the PDRMA site, go to the Education & Training menu, and click the Online Learning Center link to access all our online courses," explains Patty Maher, Training and Development Supervisor. "There's no need for a second OLC log in anymore."
The new single sign on lets staff self-enroll in the wide range of offerings — some 20 new (and growing) online courses in addition to ones created by PDRMA Education and Training. Currently, the course categories include Human Resources, Parks/Maintenance/Golf, PDRMA Health, Safety and Health, Vehicle/Fleet, and Wellness.
The OLC also allows Safety Coordinators (SCs) to register staff for online courses. “Employees can just log in to OLC and click the My Courses link to check on their assigned courses,” notes Maher. Both staff and SCs see only the courses available to them depending on whether their agency is a Property/Casualty member, a Health Program member or both. And SCs who register staff for trainings can also run reports to monitor progress. “We want to make it as convenient as possible to access, register and track training progress,” she adds. “So no matter what the activity, there will always be clear steps to follow.”
A recording of the Feb. 11 webinar for Safety Coordinators — The Online Learning Center: A Tour for Safety Coordinators — is available as a Video on Demand on the PDRMA website to help Safety Coordinators perform basic functions within the OLC.
The single sign on to the OLC makes PDRMA training convenient and flexible for members and their employees — it’s easy to access, available 24/7 and enables PDRMA to offer new training opportunities.
“It’s important to make our training resources easy for members to use,” explains Maher. “Our new OLC does just that while providing new course material and easier reporting options.”
